BIOGRAPHY

She attended the Art Institute in Cortina and studied with Emilio Vedova at the Fine Arts Academy in Venice, where she graduated in Painting in 1983. In 1982, she participated in her first exhibition, Immagina, organized by the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa. In 1991, she began experimenting with glass, conceiving bizarre objects and sculptures. With these new works, she participated in the Glass Project at the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, in 1992, and the following year she was invited to participate in the Deterritoriale exhibition at the 45th Venice Biennale curated by Achille Bonito Oliva. She continues to cultivate her passion for biology and science fiction and uses glass as her favorite expressive medium. In the new millennium, the artist introduced a new typology of work, inspired by marine organisms: octopuses and jellyfish in flashy colors, made with glass, LED, and fiber optics, like in the ViruX Landscape exhibition in Palazzo Loredan (2016), Venice. Rosin is known internationally and her creations can be found in important collections such as the Corning Museum of Glass, New York; Carnegie Museum of Arts, Pittsburgh; Dusseldorf’s Kunst Museum; and Murano Glass Museum. She exhibited at the Palazzo Fortuny (2007), Venice; at the National Glass Centre (2008), Sunderland; the Carnegie Museum of Art Pittsburgh (2009); the 53rd Venice Biennale (2010); in the collateral event of the Venice Biennale, Glasstress (2015), Fondazione Berengo, Venice; and at Glassfever (2016), Dordrecht.
